Practice followed, with the first seven years providing conventional medical
and surgical care to creatures large and small. Retraining in methods natural
included certification in acupuncture by the International Veterinary Acupuncture
Society, followed by certification as a Veterinary Homeopath by the Academy
of Veterinary Homeopathy. Dr. Falconer has since 1992 dedicated his practice
to classical homeopathy, with animal patients around the globe.
Alternatives for Animal Health takes a limited number of new patients throughout most of the year. Preference is given to those care givers who are open minded, willing to see health and disease in a new way, and not afraid to trust the healing abilities inherent in their animals. As the practice of homeopathy depends on careful observation and prescribing, Dr. Falconer will ask those coming to him to keep a careful diary of change throughout the course of treatment of each animal. Effective January 1, 2009, fees are $180 per hour for routine work, scheduled by appointment. Remedies and supplements are in addition to the hourly fee.
Emergency Services are for established clients only. New cases will not be
taken on as emergencies. It is suggested that you use your local veterinary
emergency services to get your animal’s condition stabilized, and then
contact us to set up an initial appointment to get the deeper curative work
started .
Time - The usual length of time for an initial consultation, whether done by telephone or in the office is 60-90 minutes. Follow up appointments are commonly 10-20 minutes and are typically scheduled at 2-4 week intervals until cure is achieved. On average, the length of time to effect cure is about half the time the symptoms of disease have been present. For example, if your animal has been itchy on and off for the last 5 years, it may take 2 1/2 years to get all the way to cure, meaning completely well with no ongoing treatment needed. That’s not to say there won’t be signs of progress along the way -- we’ll expect that symptoms will steadily lessen as treatment proceeds.
